As the world mourns the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi joins in sorrow and remembrance. With compassion and aloha, His Majesty King Edmund K. Paki-Silva II honors her remarkable life of service and calls upon the world to embrace forgiveness, healing, and respect during this time of mourning.
On September 11, 2022, His Majesty King Edmund K. Paki-Silva II, Sovereign Monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi, issued a heartfelt message of condolence on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
In his statement, the King reflected on Queen Elizabeth’s unwavering dedication to her duty, noting her steadfastness even in times of profound change. He described her as a monarch who guided her nation with grace, humility, and commitment, never wavering despite immense challenges.
The King also observed that Queen Elizabeth had begun shifting away from the colonial legacy of her ancestors, and though her life ended before completing that work, her heart was committed to positive transformation and healing.
He declared this moment a season of forgiveness and reconciliation, calling upon people across the globe to lay aside the wounds of the past and embrace compassion and understanding for one another.
