From the King's Administration Office:

The King’s Administration Office honors the retirement of Ali‘i Mana‘o Nui Lanny Sinkin after twenty-three years of faithful service to His Majesty and the Kingdom. His legacy of love, wisdom, and devotion has profoundly shaped the restoration of the Hawaiian Kingdom. As Mr. Josh Kotter steps into his new role as Ali‘i Mana‘o Nui, the Kingdom enters a new chapter rooted in unity, righteousness, and the continued fulfillment of the King’s divine vision.

From The King’s Administration Office:

Today, as I sat among those gathered to hear the announcement of Ali‘i Mana‘o Nui Lanny Sinkin’s retirement, I found myself overcome with emotion. For twenty-three years, Lanny has stood faithfully by the King’s side—steadfast, humble, and unwavering in his devotion to the restoration and sacred work of the Kingdom. His presence has never been about position or recognition; it has always been about service, love, and truth.

As the news was shared that Mr. Josh Kotter would be stepping into his new role as Ali‘i Mana‘o Nui, my heart was filled with both reverence and hope. Reverence for the immense legacy Lanny leaves behind, and hope for the new era now unfolding before us. It is not an ending—it is a continuation of the divine work Lanny helped to build, carried now by new hands under the King’s authority, guidance, and the direction of Heaven itself.

When Ka Mo‘i wrote his letter to Lanny, it was not simply to say farewell, but to express what words so often fail to capture. Lanny has been more than a mentor or colleague; he has been family. His wisdom has shaped the very foundation of what we now stand upon. His counsel, compassion, and unshakable faith have carried many of us through times of uncertainty and change.

For over two decades, he has been the living embodiment of loyalty and grace. His strength has never been loud, yet it has been constant—an anchor in the storm and a quiet assurance that truth, when guided by love, will always prevail.

Today marks a turning point in the life of the Kingdom. Under the leadership of Ali‘i Mana‘o Nui Josh Kotter, we look forward to the continued unfolding of the King’s vision—one grounded in righteousness, unity, and restoration. The foundation Lanny helped to lay will continue to support this new chapter, and his legacy will remain deeply woven into the heart of our collective work.

To Lanny: thank you for your years of service, for your friendship to Ka Mo‘i, and for your faith. You have carried the light of this Kingdom with dignity and devotion. Though your title may pass to another, your imprint on our hearts and history will never fade.

May this new season bring you peace, joy, and the quiet knowing that your work—your love—continues to live on in all of us.

With love and gratitude and aloha.

E Hoʻomaikaʻi e Aliʻi Manaʻo Nui Lanny Sinkin,

Though I did not have the blessing of knowing you closely, the depth of the words shared by Ka Mo’i speak clearly of the light and steadfast devotion you carried for the Kingdom and her people. The reverence in this proclamation allows us, as council, to feel the echo of your service and to witness how your spirit continues to shape the path we now walk.

In this season of renewal, your example reminds us that true leadership is both humble and enduring — rooted in aloha and guided by the greater breath of ʻāina and ancestry. Your presence has poured something lasting into the foundation of this restoration, and for that, we give thanks.

May your legacy move through our deliberations, our unity, and the living heart of the Kingdom as we carry forward the work of peace and sovereignty you helped sustain.

With aloha and gratitude,

Jenn Naimo
