Kingdom Offices of Island Governance

The Kingdom Offices of Island Governance are entrusted to esteemed nobles recognized for their deep knowledge of Hawaiian culture, traditions, and the needs of the people. Acting as governors and mayors of their respective islands, these leaders serve as the Crown’s representatives, ensuring fair governance, cultural preservation, and the well-being of their communities. Their kuleana (responsibility) is to uphold pono (justice, balance) and aloha ʻāina (love for the land), maintaining harmony between the people, the land, and the Kingdom.

Governors collaborate with their communities, local councils, and the Royal Cabinet to implement policies, oversee development, protect cultural heritage, and ensure public safety. They also coordinate royal events, ceremonies, and island-wide initiatives, representing the Crown with dignity and care.
